Growing in popularity are the week long star parties at Haw Wood Farm in Suffolk. They are held in Spring and Autumn and attract mostly the more serious observers. The site is very dark, the pitches are good, and washrooms excellent. Those used to Kelling Heath will find the small shop and cafe with limited off-season opening the biggest difference - but the skies are darker!
As usual I hired a caravan for the week (Norfolk Caravans - recommended). The nights are cold and long at this time of the year and having a warm place to retreat to every so often to rest is essential.
Weather wasnt brilliant but did manage to get at least some observing in on all but two nights. Equipment all worked well and there was a lot of interest in my eFinder.
